Our Dickinson ISD families were greatly impacted by Harvey. We are asking for assistance to purchase $10 Choir shirts for each member of our Middle School Choir. If we can provide these shirts without cost to our families this year, it will go a long way towards lifting morale. Many students are not living in their homes and struggling financially.

Thank you to everyone who has already reached out to Dickinson ISD. Your generosity has been a huge blessing as people struggle to put life back together.

Equipment Music

The majority of sheet music at LCJH was stored in boxes on the floor due to not having shelves installed yet. SA, TB, SSA, SAB, and SATB music is used in our program. I am still working on determining what pieces I would loved to have replaced. I have also determined that most of the TB and SATB sightreading material was destroyed.

We were hoping to raise funds to purchase the Wenger Library system in the coming years, But we have cancelled our fundraising program this year. Which means our music (whatever was salvaged and what gets replaced) will still be stored in boxes or totes on the floor for the foreseeable future.

Our Wenger cabinets that store our choir folders when not in use were also damaged so students no longer have a place to put folders and textbooks. We were told that if it was made of wood and touched water, it was being disposed of.

Update #1. Alfred Music Publishing has graciously replaced all of their titles that were still in print. Carl Fischer and BriLee gave my donor school a discount on several of the titles I requested to have replaced. My classroom speakers were also replaced by my adoptive school. I have almost completed my sheet music wish list to see what is still available and hope to upload it very soon.

Update #2. Several of our PML UIL titles were lost and I am compiling a list to hopefully have some replaced in time to use this year for contest.

Music Accessories

Many of my students have been impacted. Finances are hard to come by for most of our kids whose parents work day to day.
Choir shirts were ordered and a lot of the kids are having a difficult time paying for them. As well as their polo shirts for football games. This doesn't begin to even cover the tmea region audition fees and music associated with it. Anything that can be sent to help my kids would be gratefully appreciated.

Student Needs

Music

Many of my students cannot afford the participation fees for competitions. The cost for participating in the region audition is $18 per student. For so long Ensemble the fee is $10 First Student.

Equipment Instructional Materials

I am the director of choirs across our district so I am on the Intermediate, Middle, and High school campus. Our Intermediate and Middle schools both got several inches of water and were inaccessible for days, making anything that could have been salvageable lost. Much of my literature at the Middle school ended up molding, I lost all my uniforms, and my risers sat in flood water for days causing them to rust. If you happen to have any of these floating around and you are looking to find it a new home I would happily give them a new home!

Much of our community was impacted by the flooding left in Harvey's wake. We are a very small community and many of my students have lost everything. As of right now, I have received binders, THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!!

Our school was displaced due to severe flooding in our old building. We are in need of several items to make our new home function efficiently. We need the following items:
-Rolling dry erase board (preferably with music staff lines). We currently have no board in our classroom.
-Garmet racks to hang our formal uniforms on.
-Headphones
-Folder cabinet
-Video camera and Ipod were lost in the flood, and we are looking to replace them so that we can use them for performances coming up.

Additionally, many of our families suffered severe flood damage in their homes and are experiencing financial hardship. Therefore, many of our choir students cannot afford to pay for their uniforms, region choir entry fees, solo & ensemble entry fees, etc. We are seeking monetary donations to help cover these costs for our choir students.

I have 12 students that are unable to pay their choir supply fees($50.00) due to the Hurricane. they are classified as homeless. Their fees help pay for materials and uniforms for choir: dresses, cleaning and alteration of dresses, Solo Entry fees, accompanist fees, Sight reading books, T-shirts, contest entry fees, field trips and buses, etc. Also, we were unable to have our usual fundraiser this fall which usually supplements our funds. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
