Our elementary school had extensive flood damage and has been closed down for the year while repairs are being made. All of our students and staff have been displaced to two different host campuses and I travel to teach a half day at each. Grades 3-5 in the morning and Grades K-2 in the afternoon. The elementary portion of our program basically lost all music and elementary instruments with the loss of the band hall and auditorium. There were also extensive damages to band instruments and music used for 6th grade band as well as JH/HS band programs. Please visit the Woodsboro HS help request page to help with band equipment. This request will be solely for equipment intended for fifth grade and below general music classes.

Our school got several inches of water, including the music room. The major needs for our room are two large rugs and an upright piano. We also lost some instruments that were close to the floor: boomwhackers, rainsticks, alto metallophone to name a few. The students sit on two large rugs in the classroom (our class size is about 50-60 students). Our favorite ones are the Lakeshore rugs with 30 colored squares each. Our piano also got water. We are not picky about a brand. Just a piano in good working condition would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Replacement items needed: 1 electronic grand piano, multiple percussion instruments (hand drums, bongos, gathering drum, xylophones/marimbas, mallets/sticks, aux. percussion); "petting zoo" woodwind/string/brass instruments (flute, clarinet, bass recorder, violin, guitar, ukulele, trombone, trumpet); soundsystem equipment (performance microphones w/ stands, speakers, sound board w/ CD player); music stands and technology/games for centers (ipad/kindle, manipulatives like music dice/flashcards/scarves); instructional materials (folk song books-Feierabend/Trinka, etc., programs/musicals w/ performance ready CDs); decorating items for classroom and programs (bulletin board items, technique/instrument posters, costumes); "Safe Place" items (small bookshelves, books, plush toys-Inside Out characters or others, pillows/blankets, resting mat), comfy chair/beanbag); organizational/storage/office supply items

Grades K-4 need: Music/theory activity books, pencils, crayons/markers, erasers, dry erase markers, erasable chalk paint markers, clipboards, 1 inch binders, hand sanitizer, kleenex, campus music spirit shirt and general clothing/shoe items (many of my students lost everything).

Students needs recorder, neckstrap and book for classroom participation.

I teach recorder to students in 4th and 5th grade. I usually order recorders, books, neckstraps from Macie Publishing Company. I have 30 displaced students who will need these particular items for classroom participation starting in December. I appreciate any help for these students.

Our 2 music classrooms were flooded and our carpet had to be replaced but it was replaced with tile. The students sit on the floor for music so we each need a big rug for the students to sit on.

My entire classroom floor was flooded due to Hurricane Harvey. I had a beautiful classroom music carpet that was ruined due to the floodwaters. I use this rug for many activities and classroom management. Attached is a link to the rug I had before.

Microphone stands - 8: Microphone stands are needed to help us stage performances this year. We did not have any come back from our campus and could use a set for our new equipment.
Orff Keyboards (glock, xylo, marimba) - 12: Our Orff instruments were lost in the flooding due to water damage. We need a classroom set of Glocks, Xylophones, and Marimbas so an ensemble group can be started as a part of our yearly stage performances and for classroom instruction.
Media cart - Any type is preferred. As the music teacher, I am traveling between two campus locations and it would be beneficial and time-efficient to have a cart that could remain set up for my primary students in the mornings. Any cart that could hold a laptop, projector, and speakers would be great!
